What's New for 2021?

The Subaru lineup gets updates in driver assistance, safety features, and light refreshes. The innovative EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology suite is now standard for all models with the Lineartronic® CVT. Many new 2021 Subaru models come with Steering Responsive Headlights, which turn in the direction of the steering wheel at low speeds, providing greater visibility.

Most 2021 Subaru models also come with standard rear-set reminders, which chime when the engine is turned off and there are still passengers in the back seats. There is also a seatbelt alert to ensure all passengers are safely secured.

Some of the changes made to the 2021 Subaru lineup include:

  • 2021 Crosstrek: The most changes have been made to the latest Crosstrek. This subcompact crossover has a redesigned front appearance, standard EyeSight®, and a newly available 182-horsepower 2.5-liter BOXER® engine. The Sport trim level includes a new water-resistant StarTex® upholstery, an exclusive Plasma Yellow Pearl paint, yellow contrast stitching, yellow accent trim, and floormats made from recycled materials.
  • 2021 Accent: The family-oriented, three-row Accent has improved driver assistance and safety features. The Accent benefits from adaptive cruise control and active lane control being added to EyeSight® and LED Steering Responsive Headlights come standard.
  • 2021 Forester: The latest Forester includes standard LED adaptive headlights and automatic high beams, which can sense oncoming vehicles and switch from high to low beams to avoid overpowering others on the road. The new Forester also comes with a rear-seat reminder and rear-seat belt reminder.
  • 2021 Outback and Legacy: Even with their complete redesigns in 2020, both models now include standard LED Steering Responsive Headlights and rear-seat reminders.
  • 2021 Impreza: The Premium trim level now comes with SI-Drive modes, and all trim levels come with a rear-seat reminder.

What's New for the 2022 Subaru Lineup?

Atlanta drivers can expect complete redesigns for the sporty models for 2022. The 2022 WRX and 2022 BRZ will be completely refreshed for an all-new driving experience and appearance. The other exciting news is the upcoming debut of an all-electric Subaru model. This EV Subaru is expected for its global reveal in early 2022. It will be about the same size as the Subaru Forester and have a distinct design.

What Are the Updates for the 2022 WRX?

While nothing is confirmed yet, it's likely that the 2022 WRX have a 2.4-liter direct-injection turbocharged FA24 BOXER® engine replacing the 2.0-liter FA20 engine. With this possible engine update, it's likely that the 2022 WRX will offer even more power. The 2022 WRX STI will no longer have the 2.5-liter turbo engine, and instead likely carry the 2.4-liter turbo engine. Some suspect that it will deliver close to 400 horsepower.

What's New for 2022 BRZ?

The 2022 BRZ will also have a complete redesign and updated performance. It's expected to get additional power with a 2.4-liter engine that offers 228 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque. You can also expect a sporty driving experience with a 50-percent increase in torsion stiffness along with other exciting updates.
